Natalie Scenters-Zapico teaches Creative Writing and Chicanx Literature at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. She has also taught at the University of New Mexico, Encuentro Immigrant Resource Center, Juan Diego Catholic High School, and was Poet-In-Residence at Westminster College 2016-2017. She designed and co-wrote the Tutor-Student Athlete Handbook for the University of Texas at El Paso, and has taught English Composition, a multi-genre Introduction to Creative Writing, Advanced Poetry Workshops, 19th Century American Literature, and Chincanx/Latinx Literatures.

She has also served as mentor to many Latinx and Diné students to help in the transition from high school to undergraduate education, and in pursuing graduate studies.
